Overcrowded classrooms, peer pressure, drugs and violence, as well as immorality have plagued our education system, and our young people have become victims.

In 1985, after much prayer and fasting for the Lord's direction concerning this matter, the "vision through burden" became a reality to the faithfulness of God's direction, and Jim and Gloria Porteous founded and opened Inner City Christian Academy (ICCA). Many, many young people and families have been helped since that time.

The philosophy of Inner City Christian Academy is based on the Word of God. The primary objective and purpose of the school is to train students in the way of life presented in the Scriptures, while giving them a good general education.

The ABeka Curricula from Pensacola Christian School, Pensacola Florida is used at ICCA. The academic program, through the traditional approach is developed to provide students with the best possible program of studies. There is emphasis on the mastery of fundamentals of learning and acquiring and maintaining proper study habits.

Our smaller classes, afford close and personal teacher/student communication, enabling both the academically strong and weak students to obtain higher levels of academic achievement.

Because of its high academic standards, Inner City Christian Academy's High School graduates are prepared to successfully achieve entrance into California State Universities, Junior Colleges or Tech Schools.
